University of Michigan Alumni Association

About

Many counties and many miles - that describes the University of Michigan Club of Northern New Jersey.

The University of Michigan Club of Northern New Jersey comprises an area with more than 8,000 alumni, students, parents, friends, and fans. The club includes members from Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, and Union counties.

As we remember our days in Ann Arbor, we recognize how far we are from the Diag and the importance of our Michigan experience. And yet, what we are describing is the broad geographic area of New Jersey that encompasses our club: from Princeton to Mahwah and from the Delaware Water Gap to Liberty State Park.

Being a proud Wolverine, I am honored to be president of our club, interacting with fellow alumni, both recent graduates and those that have been away from State Street for quite some time.

Our club provides a wide range of activities, including watching football games, going to the theatre, working with Habitat for Humanity, taking hikes, or supporting any program that our members feel is worthwhile.  And now, thanks to the expansion of the Big Ten, we have many more opportunities to watch our Wolverines play in our backyard at Rutgers University.

We have a dedicated group of fellow Wolverines that have worked effectively in maintaining our club. Without them, it would be challenging to offer the breadth of activities that make us proud to say we are graduates of the University of Michigan.

As always, we are looking for our next leaders. We ask that you get involved, in any way. Please reach out to us, come to a board meeting, or attend an event. We want and need your participation - the more you give to this club, the more you will certainly get out.

Each and every day, I am amazed at the significance that our education means to others and, most important, to fellow graduates. While we are many miles from walking on South University, we hope you will join us-- maybe, you might even get to enjoy some pizza from the Cottage Inn with friends, both new and old right here in the Garden State!

Go Blue!
