Peter Pickus:  Peter is President of MTAC for a second time, having served in the role from 2009-2011.  While a native of Ohio, Peter’s a third generation Michigan grad and third generation Club president.  Peter’s love for Michigan runs deep – he maintains his season football tickets and has seen Michigan play baseball, softball, volleyball, basketball, and field hockey in the Triangle in recent years, and he’s about to head to Camp Michigania for his 49th summer. Peter currently works for Gartner and lives in Apex with his two Michigan-loving sons.

Aaron Gerstman: Aaron is currently CFO of Enhanced Heating and Air Conditioning in Raleigh but what Aaron is most proud of is having attending 175-180 home football games while living all over the United States.

Aleta Jordan: Aleta is a native Michigander who currently serves as the Care in the Community Outpatient Clinical Coordinator for the Durham VAMC.  In addition to her two degrees from Michigan, she also holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing from Wayne State University (‘92).  Because of her health care background, she enjoys working on socially conscience projects that benefit the health, education and welfare of those less fortunate in our community.

Sean MacDonald: Sean was born in Rochester, MI but grew up in Lapeer, MI and graduated from Lapeer East High School in 1991. After moving to Charlotte, NC, Sean returned to school and graduated from UNC-Charlotte in 2002 with a Masters degree in English. He spent more than a decade in Charlotte before moving to Durham in 2011. Sean currently teaches high school English to children with learning disabilities at The Fletcher Academy in Raleigh. He married Erin MacDonald in 2012 in Scotland and has been working to convert her to a Michigan fan ever since.

John Oldenburg: John also is a native Michigander who enjoyed the beginning of the Bo Schembechler era while spending eight years (1968-76) in Ann Arbor earning his three degrees.  Finally forced to grow up a little bit, he trundled south and enjoyed a 36-year legal career in Memphis, Tennessee until his retirement.  His 2015 move to the Triangle was a response to the draw of family, a married daughter and a grandchild living in Raleigh and in-laws found in Greensboro and Winston-Salem.  The fact that his wife is a "Dukie" probably had something to do with it as well.

Ashley Jardina: Some of Ashley’s favorite Michigan memories are from her time working for The Daily, training with the Michigan Taekwondo Club, and rushing the football field in the Big House after Michigan beat Ohio State (twice!). She moved to North Carolina in 2014, and is currently a Professor of Political Science at Duke University. She lives in Durham with her golden retriever named Maize.

Mike Kalt: Mike is a former MTAC President and Treasurer. Mike immediately moved to Chapel Hill upon graduating from UofM where he received a PhD in Political Science from UNC. Mike retired in 2011 after a 31-year career at SAS Institute as a Technical Support Manager and Instructor. He now lives in Cary with his wife Brenda, an honorary Michigan alumna. His favorite Michigan memory is viewing the 24-12 victory over Ohio State (aka “The Greatest Game Ever Played”) in 1969 from the last row of Michigan Stadium.

Rhonda Stephens: Rhonda is currently a Public Health Dentist with the Oral Health Section of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.  She was born and bred in Indiana, but fed in Michigan - attending for both college and dental school. Prior to relocating to North Carolina in 2015, she practiced general dentistry in underserved communities of Indianapolis, IN. She enjoys biking and hiking the vast green spaces of NC, indulging in diverse foods, and relaxing at home.

Dan Tounsel: Dan is another of MTAC’s Michigan natives.  Dan relocated to The Triangle area in 2014 and currently works in legal/risk management at UNC Hospital.
