University of Michigan Alumni Association

Each year, the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan honors and recognizes Clubs in regards to their efforts to promote engagement, membership, student relations, and other areas of involvement within their respective regions. The University of Michigan Club of Manistee, which is responsible for these activities in five Northern Michigan counties, is proud to announce that it was recognized with a 2016 Outstanding Club Award by the Clubs Council and Alumni Association.

This recognition of the U of M Club of Manistee comes upon the heels of the 2015 Outstanding Award received by the group. The Club demonstrated excellence not only in its annual programming — such as the “Tailgate Extravaganza” new student send-off each summer — but also due in part to the club’s community engagement efforts, including highway cleanup through the MDOT Adopt-A-Highway program, bell ringing for the Salvation Army in Manistee and Ludington, the Family Health Fair, Scottville Library reading events and numerous social gatherings intended for networking and general outreach.
