University of Michigan Alumni Association

Purposes of the Organization

• To keep the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan and its Hispanic alumni affiliate organizations informed of the concerns, needs, goals, interests and progress of the University of Michigan, especially as they relate to Hispanics at the University of Michigan.

• To provide a forum for the exchange of information, ideas, and resources in an effort to improve the status of the U-M Hispanic alumni and students.

• To establish a formal mechanism for extending camaraderie among Hispanic alumni, students and friends of the University of Michigan.

• To further the recruitment of Hispanic students, faculty, administrative and academic support staff to the University of Michigan.

• To develop and help administer scholarship programs and activities which will support Hispanic students and their programs at the University of Michigan.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility for membership in the University of Michigan Hispanic Alumni Council (UMHAC) is extended to all persons who have attended the University of Michigan or are members in good standing of the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan, or have been designated by the university as honorary alumni or bestowed an honorary degree, and who support the goals and ideals of UMHAC.
