The U of M Club of Grand Rapids has 11 committes that develop and run events and programs for the club.

If you are interested in volunteering or learning more about any of these committees, send an email to grandrapidsclub@umich.edu and we will get you in contact with the committee chairs. 

Scholarship- Annual Program & Event

This committee runs the club's scholarship program. Our club offers 15-17 new 4 year scholarships to West Michigan high school seniors. The committee chairs are Eric Biesbrock and Stephanie Grant. 

Scholarship- Fundraising

This committee raises money for the club's scholarship fund. The contact for this committee is Eric Biesbrock at ebies@umich.edu

Education Empowerment

This committee works with local middle and high schools to teach kids about post-high school education opportunies and encourages them to apply to colleges and universities. The committee chairs are Ethan Anderson and Kathy Stahl.

Social Media
 
This committee engages with local alumni through social media platforms like Facebook. The committee chair is Keith Patterson.

Club & Membership Awareness

This committee develops programs to make our local alumni aware of the Club of Grand Rapids and the national alumni association (AAUM). The committee chair is Elise Boncher.

Golf Outing

This committee plans our annual scholarship fundraiser, the U of M Club of Grand Rapids Golf Outing. The committee chairs are Kathy Stahl, Gloria Pitsch, Bill Franks, and Matt Wikander.

Events- Social/Networking

This committee plans club events that pertain to Social or Networking. Past examples include monthly happy hours, a pasta making class, and a painting class. The committee chair is Jackie Gordon.

Events- Sports (U of M related)

This committee plans club events that pertain to U of M sports. Past examples include football and basketball game watch parties, basketball and hockey bus trips, and the Hall of Fame volleyball showcase. The committee chair is Eric Biesbrock.

Events- Family/Student

This committee plans club events that are family or student focused. Past examples include the annual Student Send Off Picnic and the Fall Game Watch Tailgate. The committee chair is Sarah Nelson.

Events- Community Outreach

This committee plans club events that focus on volunteering and community outreach. Past examples include volunteering with the Hope Lodge Dinner and Feeding America. The committee chairs are Julie Blaszak and Jen Moore.

Events- Professional Development

This committee plans club events that focus on professional development. The committee chair is Rob Geer.
