University of Michigan Alumni Association

Holly Kralik-  President

KralikI grew up in Shelby Township, MI where I now reside. My mom, brother, sister-in-law, and two nieces live close by, which is so fun! While I was a student at The University of Michigan, I majored in English and Political Science and received my teaching certificate. After my undergraduate work, I completed a Master’s degree from Wayne State University and am, currently, teaching high school English, volunteering at church, ushering at the Fisher Theater, and volunteering for a student travel organization. I cheered at The University of Michigan from 1998-2002 and loved it! My teammates, the spirit and tradition of The University of Michigan, and the electric feeling of game day are some of the reasons why I adored my time cheering and why I return to homecoming where I look forward to having more wonderful memories!

Melissa Walcott-  Vice President

WolcottMelissa is originally from Grosse Ile, MI.  She went to the University of Michigan, where she got her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, from 2000 to 2004.  She cheered all four years and was the captain for two of those years.

Melissa married her husband, Brett (also an U of M Alumnus), in 2009 and shortly after moved to sunny San Diego where her husband is stationed with the US Navy.  They have a 2-year-old son (Brooks) and are expecting a little girl in May.  This August, when her husband leaves the Navy, they are planning on moving back to the Ann Arbor area.  Her husband will be joining his dad’s dental practice near the Big House, and Melissa will return to her personal training job downtown at Vie: Fitness & Spa.

Melissa looks forward to coming home every Homecoming, and being able to cheer on the field. Some of Melissa’s greatest memories of college are cheering at U of M, which is why she is happy to be a part of the University of Michigan Alumni Cheerleaders Association.

Julie Hengehold (with Coach Newt)- Treasurer

HengeholdI was born and raised in Macomb Township, MI, and was a 1999 graduate of Dakota High School. I graduated in 2003 from U of M with a Major in Biochemistry and Minor in Math. During my four undergraduate years at U of M,1999 to 2003, I was a member of the Cheer Team. Cheerleading for U of M was a wonderful experience. It was great to be able to support a school and team that I loved, while making some of the best friends and memories possible. Upon undergraduate graduation, I was not ready to leave Ann Arbor. I was accepted into the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, and graduated in 2007. After graduation I served in the United States Navy as a Dental Officer from July, 2007 to July, 2010, with tours in Okinawa, Japan, and Newport, RI, and a deployment to Bangladesh. After completing my U.S. Navy Commitment, my husband, Jeremy Parrott, and I moved to Port Huron, MI. Together we started a dental practice in Port Huron, MI, Family Dentists, PLLC. We also started growing our family. We are proud parents of our three daughters, Joella, Jianna, and Jemma.
